Semtech's GainCore high-power Gain Chip family provides the fundamental optical gain building block for Integrated Tunable Laser Assemblies (ITLA/xITLA), external cavity lasers, and semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) used in coherent and high-power optical systems. Manufactured on Semtech's vertically integrated InP platform, the gain chips are engineered for industry-leading performance including high optical power, low noise, low gain ripple leading to excellent frequency accuracy in field-proven ITLA technology across the C and L bands. Semtech's SOA designs are used to amplify single-mode coherent and DWDM signals. SOA variants share the same high-efficiency, low-noise InP epitaxial IP as the gain chips, with waveguide and coating options tailored to optical amplification needs in coherent transceivers and high power optical communications systems.
